TONNY R SOEHARTONO earned a PhD degree in forestry and natural resources management from University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He had an intensive experience working with a number of international agencies such as the World Bank (Developing PDD of Strengthening Social Forestry in Indonesia), ADB (Strengthening Institutional Capacity Building in the Heart of Borneo Indonesia), the European Community in Indonesia (Institutional Capacity Building on Wildlife Trade Products), GIZ (Developing National Strategic Plan for the Heart of Borneo and Assessing National Park Governance in Indonesia). He had been working for the Ministry of Forestry between 2004-2010 serving as Director of National Forest Planning, Director of Biodiversity Conservation and Director of Ecosystem Services. In addition he was Director of Sundaland Bioregion – WWF Indonesia (2001-2004), Director of Marine – Conservation International (CI) Indonesia Program.
